Digital Rights

To explore these issues, the session will feature philosopher Remedios Zafra, writer Belén Gopegui, author of the novel Te siguen, and Carmen Torrijos, a computational linguist and head of artificial intelligence at Prodigioso Volcán, with moderation by Lorena Sánchez; this dialogue is part of the Digital Rights program, an initiative led by Red.es, a public entity under Spain's Ministry for Digital Transformation and Civil Service, through the State Secretariat for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, whose core mission is to promote monitoring, dissemination, and public debate on digital rights, fostering awareness and discussion among citizens and both public and private institutions, as well as establishing a Digital Rights Observatory as a space for reflection and policy development; this initiative is funded by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan through NextGenerationEU funds, aligning with broader European strategies for technological advancement and ethical governance; the event will include accessibility measures for people with hearing impairments and will be streamed online, ensuring broad participation via the hashtags #DigitalRights, #RecoveryPlan, and #NextGenerationEU, promoting transparency and open access to discussions on AI, digital governance, and civic engagement in the digital era.
