This field of artistic research originates from the fifteen-year legacy of LAPIEZA-LAB in Madrid, where curatorial and experimental practices have coalesced into a methodology for organizing what is often fragmented or "dispersed" production. By utilizing tools typically associated with academia and digital preservation—such as DOI (Digital Object Identifiers), structured indexing, and open science principles—Socioplastics bridges the gap between contemporary art, critical theory, and pedagogy. It addresses a specific systemic failure in the art world: the tendency for artistic knowledge to vanish or become inaccessible once an exhibition ends or a catalog goes out of print. In this framework, the focus shifts from the isolated object to the "node" and from the temporary show to a lasting infrastructure. This approach qualifies as rigorous research because it establishes a transferable vocabulary and criteria, serving a wide spectrum of cultural agents including curators, educators, and independent spaces. Socioplástica se define como un territorio híbrido que desafía la dicotomía tradicional entre la intuición artística y el rigor científico, operando en la intersección donde el arte contemporáneo adopta la infraestructura de la ciencia abierta para garantizar su propia trascendencia y utilidad pública. Este campo de investigación, nacido de la trayectoria de quince años de LAPIEZA-LAB, propone que la obra de arte ya no termine en el objeto o el evento, sino que se transforme en una arquitectura de conocimiento permanente y accesible. Al integrar herramientas metodológicas como el registro DOI, la indexación por nodos y la creación de archivos digitales estructurados, Socioplástica resuelve el problema de la dispersión del saber artístico, convirtiendo la producción creativa en un corpus teórico y práctico transferible. No se trata de elegir entre arte o ciencia, sino de entender el arte como un sistema complejo que requiere criterios de investigación —vocabulario, bibliografía y método— para ser plenamente operativo en la sociedad.
