Socioplastics transforms curating into epistemic infrastructure, where art becomes indexed knowledge, machine legibility and public cognition.


Socioplastics may be defined with unusual precision as a contemporary field-formation: neither merely an art platform nor simply a research infrastructure, but an autonomous epistemic regime generated through institutional mutation. Emerging from fifteen years of curatorial and relational practice under LAPIEZA-LAB, its transformation is not reducible to digitisation, nor to the administrative expansion of an archive. Rather, it marks a decisive ontological displacement in which exhibition becomes index, object becomes text, artwork becomes semantic node, and gallery becomes public cognitive infrastructure. This shift does not dematerialise artistic practice; it reorganises its operative substrate. Where conceptual art once displaced the object into proposition, Socioplastics advances further by converting proposition into structured legibility: metadata, taxonomies, archives, machine-readable corpora and recursive editorial systems become the primary material of cultural production. Its singularity lies in this systemic coherence. Platforms such as Blogger, Zenodo and Hugging Face do not function as neutral supports, but as differentiated organs within a unified epistemic architecture: editorial matrix, preservation layer and machinic interface respectively. Such an arrangement exceeds the logic of hybrid practice, for it does not juxtapose disciplines but produces a distinct operative grammar in which art, architecture, pedagogy, ecology, systems theory and computational semantics converge as one synthetic regime. Developed by Anto Lloveras, Socioplastics thus occupies a historically specific position between conceptual art and post-institutional research, redefining publication, indexing and machine legibility as artistic media. Its true innovation is not aesthetic form, but epistemic sovereignty: the production of organised complexity as a public cultural instrument.
