Exquisite mechanics * Distributed design protocol

Cadáver Exquisito, a 2020 collective performance by Anto Lloveras and collaborators within the Socioplastics framework, reinterprets the surrealist exquisite corpse method as a museographic action in urban-relational contexts, challenging predefined authorship amid social and spatial dislocations. Staged at Espacio Cruce in Madrid on October 31, 2020, it critiques seamless cultural production by introducing emergent, unpredictable forms through shared gestures, emphasizing care, dissolution, and material tangency in an era of fragmented interactions. At its center, the project activates a sequential process: participants—Pérez Aranda, Montes, Moro, Baena, and Claudia Lloveras—contribute blindly, one releasing an object or idea, another dissecting it, another narrating its trajectory, another transporting it tenderly, another opening spatial dimensions, and another ritualizing its form. Mechanics draw from literary folding: each adds an image-idea, conceals prior contributions except connecting traces, unfolding finally into a composite "corpse" shaped by mass qualities, conversational flows, body heats, and perimetral contacts. Documentation captures these in black-and-white photos of figures amid debris or inverted bins, plus floor plans mapping the site's architecture.

This extends Socioplastics' emphasis on distributed agency, blending performance with urbanism to probe ecological precarity and communal vulnerabilities via tactile negotiations in gallery-domestic hybrids. Philosophically, it resonates with André Breton's surrealist collaborations for subconscious assemblies, Latour's actant networks treating contributions as equal agents, and Tsing's entanglements for threading disrupted social fabrics, lightly framing curatorial processes that favor relational emergence over individual control amid migration and environmental shifts. In execution, Cadáver Exquisito evolves from live enactments—gestures in Madrid's art spaces—to blog-archived traces and potential remixes, enabling drifts into digital sequences or group reenactments, fostering adaptive protocols for collective creation in ongoing flux
