Durational gestures * Situated Affection

Within the evolving framework of Unstable Installation Series, the Provence chapter (cut #960) manifests as a composite action shaped by movement, affection and chromatic attunement to place, unfolding across a week-long residency in southern France, this piece emerges not from a single gesture but from a sequence of lived scenes, where walking, filming, collecting, dressing, and assembling converge into a porous form of relational sculpture, the central performance—30 km walk with yellow bags, purple pants and white shirt—reclaims the road as canvas, following a foot journey from village to village documented with the assistance of artist Marta KISS, the walk operates as a mobile sculpture, with the body, clothes and carried objects forming a moving constellation of color, gesture and situated memory, prior walks in Berlin or London echo here, but the Provençal landscape—with its thistles, vineyards, and domestic rituals—brings a slower, sensorial register, every encounter becomes part of the piece: the meals, the mirrors, the light on bodies, the ephemeral leaf pinned on fabric, the domestic gatherings under rain or sun, a language of material tenderness runs through it, marked by bags, nets, jewelry, books and colors that return cyclically as affective anchors, the video captures are minimal but precise—glimpses, not records—and the final installation assembles these fragments into a compact constellation of presence and memory, exhibited at Six Fours les Plages, where clothing, video and artifacts are recomposed as spatial narrative, in this iteration, the unstable installation is not just subtraction, but diffusion, a way of letting meaning settle across time, surface and relation.
