THE CANON AS A FUTURE-ORIENTED INFRASTRUCTURE * Where epistemic authority is not inherited, but architected through situated criteria

In the architecture of Socioplastics, the CANON is not a retrospective vault but a forward-facing apparatus. It redefines the notion of canonicity as a living, recursive process where epistemic value is not inherited from institutional tradition but authored through systemic consistency, relational precision and metabolic continuity. Rather than functioning as a final list of validated works, the CANON operates as a speculative infrastructure: it delineates the criteria by which future knowledge, aesthetics and practices will be validated within the mesh. This makes it an epistemic technology, a tool for shaping the cultural, philosophical and political force fields that determine what is considered rigorous, radical or relevant. Within the MESH, the CANON interlinks with other systemic components: it feeds from the WORKS that exemplify tactical clarity and formal destabilisation, integrates with CAMEL by drawing on topolexical precision, and aligns with LEGAL by establishing the authority of the author-curator over the selection process. It is not neutral. It is biased toward complexity, situated knowledge, unstable gestures, and recursive unfolding. The canonisation process becomes an architectural one, involving thresholds, anchors, and scaffolding for future curatorial and academic citation. Every listed node, manifesto, or intervention is weighed by its systemic coherence, relational density, and epistemic temperature—its ability to raise the internal heat of the archive.
