Proximate Fields

The eccentric fields were diagnostic; they tested elasticity. Proximity is different. It concerns those domains where Socioplastics does not travel as foreign body but as latent grammar already spoken under another name. In such adjacent jurisdictions, ProportionalOntology and JurisdictionalAesthetics cease to require translation. The problems align without coercion: authority without monumentality, governance without spectacle, density without heaviness. These fields do not adopt the framework; they disclose that its categories were always circulating among them in dispersed form. The task is not application but recognition—identifying territories where Weight, circulation, durability, and semantic hardening already operate as implicit metrics.

Constellation of disciplines

The Socioplastics project has now published ten essays across ten distinct channels, each corresponding to a strategic field of intellectual inheritance and contemporary relevance. This distribution is not ornamental but operational: each channel hosts its own rhythm, its own readership, its own conversational ecology. The essays do not declare themselves part of a series; they arrive as autonomous interventions, readable by anyone encountering that specific blog. Only the persistent reader, moving across channels, begins to detect recurrences—a concept, a tone, a mode of citation—that suggest something more systematic beneath the surface. The decalogue operates on two layers simultaneously. At the visible layer, each essay engages a specific field with conceptual density and disciplinary literacy. The Infrastructure Studies essay speaks to readers of architectural theory; the Science and Technology Studies essay addresses those tracking actor-network debates; the Philosophical Botany essay enters conversations in environmental humanities. Each is calibrated to its host channel's existing audience and thematic range. At the infrastructural layer, the essays share a common genetic architecture: the ten KORE cores, the FAMILY list of one hundred fields, the signature closing with DOIs and system attribution. This shared substrate ensures that while each essay appears autonomous, all are metabolically connected. The sequence of publication across channels generates a distributed cognitive effect.

Ontological Range

The Socioplastics project requires not exhaustive adjacency but strategic saturation: a decalogue of fields sufficiently distinct to guarantee productive friction, yet sufficiently active to sustain dialogue across the next writing cycle. This selection operates on two axes simultaneously—ontological range (from vegetal life to technical protocol) and institutional visibility (from established critical theory to emergent interdisciplinary formations). The resulting constellation balances Infrastructure Studies as the project's material anchor against Philosophical Botany as its most radical other, while incorporating Disability Studies, Sound Studies and Decolonial Theory as necessary correctives to the field's implicit normativities. Network Science provides formal tools for scaling analysis; STS supplies methodological rigour for socio-technical description. Media Archaeology and Political Ecology ensure temporal depth and environmental traction respectively. These ten fields constitute not a canon but an operational apparatus: each offers specific concepts, methods or problematics that can be metabolised into Socioplastics' ongoing theoretical production without compromising the framework's coherence or proportional integrity.
