Within Socioplastics, choreography operates as a performative epistemology in which bodily movement functions as a relational instrument capable of activating spatial, social, and atmospheric dynamics. Rather than adhering to theatrical dance traditions, the choreographic dimension of Anto Lloveras’s practice adopts a radically minimalist and processual approach, foregrounding micro-variation, repetition, and duration as mechanisms for calibrating perception and relational intensity.

Bodies are treated as porous interfaces situated within dynamic environments; gestures such as carrying, walking, wrapping, or pausing become infrastructural actions that allow space, objects, and participants to co-produce meaning. This methodological reduction draws inspiration from Samuel Beckett’s existential minimalism, the procedural aesthetics of 1960s conceptual performance, and contemporary reflections on body politics, transforming choreography into a subtle architecture of presence rather than spectacle. The ongoing series Double Sided / Doble Cara, developed with Mateo Feijoo, exemplifies this logic through paired performances in which two bodies execute mirrored yet never identical actions within stripped scenographic settings. The resulting diptych of motion foregrounds difference within repetition, emphasising process over narrative and establishing what may be described as a physics of presence—a choreography that operates through temporal resonance rather than dramatic progression. Related works extend this principle into broader socioplastic experiments: in the Unstable Installation Series, gestures of carrying bags, blankets, or briefcases become ritualised movements that accumulate meaning through geographic traversal, while projects such as Qualitätskontrolle integrate choreography, film, and architectural space into synaesthetic environments where bodies function as sculptural agents. Pedagogical initiatives like THEWOODWAY further transform collective construction into participatory choreography, demonstrating how movement and collaboration generate spatial knowledge. Across these projects choreography becomes an epistemic prosthesis, enabling practitioners and audiences alike to navigate unstable environments through embodied calibration. In this expanded field the dancer, architect, and researcher converge as situational fixers, and the stage—whether theatre, street, or construction site—operates as a porous terrain where relational forces, affective intensities, and ecological awareness continuously reconfigure the meaning of presence in contemporary urban life.

The resulting corpus forms a distributed research organism—simultaneously archive, laboratory, and cultural protocol—demonstrating how artistic and architectural practices can construct sovereign yet adaptive systems capable of negotiating the epistemic turbulence characteristic of the twenty-first century.

The practice of Anto Lloveras articulates a singular trajectory in which architecture, conceptual art, and epistemological inquiry converge into a unified research field designated Socioplastics. Trained at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid and TU Delft, Lloveras progressively displaced conventional architectural production toward a protocol-driven methodology wherein built form, performative gesture, textual publication, and digital archiving function collectively as epistemic infrastructures. Within this framework architecture ceases to operate primarily as construction and instead becomes a generative system capable of producing knowledge, relational dynamics, and cultural agency under conditions of contemporary instability. The long-running blog SOCIOPLASTICS * Sovereign Systems for Unstable Times constitutes the principal operational interface of this field, accumulating more than a thousand numbered nodes that form a recursive intellectual terrain rather than a linear archive. Parallel institutional and curatorial initiatives reinforce this distributed structure: LAPIEZA, founded in 2009, operates as an experimental exhibition platform orchestrating hybrid onsite–online programmes, while Urbanas, developed with Paula Lloveras, explores critical urban research and intervention. Across more than three hundred projects—including the Unstable Installation Series, itinerant objects such as the Yellow or Blue Bags, pedagogical experiments like THEWOODWAY at NTNU, and performances within international biennials—the practice deploys minimal yet symbolically volatile artefacts that accumulate meaning through contextual traversal. Influenced by rhizomatic philosophy, relational aesthetics, ecological humanities, and decolonial epistemologies, Socioplastics advances a mode of hyperplastic urbanism in which objects, bodies, architectures, and digital platforms operate as porous agents within fluctuating socio-spatial ecologies.

Within the evolving field of Socioplastics, the concept of performative uncertainty designates a methodological condition in which spatial gestures, objects, and architectural fragments cease to operate as representations and instead function as active environmental agents.

Rather than cultivating ambiguity as aesthetic ornament, this approach deliberately engineers instability as a medium through which artefacts enter dynamic feedback loops with their surroundings. Minor deviations—a marked surface, a chromatic displacement, a portable artefact—operate as threshold devices, subtly recalibrating a site’s perceptual equilibrium without imposing deterministic meaning. The dispersed series of coloured bags and briefcases exemplifies this logic through the notion of the “situational fixer”: a mobile object whose semantic density emerges through traversal rather than permanence. The Yellow Bag, circulating across continents since 2014, illustrates how a seemingly banal carrier becomes an Unstable Social Sculpture, absorbing contextual traces and transforming itinerancy into an affective archive of encounters. At architectural scale the same principle materialises through operational porosity, where built form becomes an atmospheric mediator rather than a monumental statement. Projects such as the Landart Fjord Museum or the Skogfinsk Museum operate as perceptual interfaces between landscape and visitor, foregrounding permeability, elevation, and environmental dialogue. Pedagogical initiatives—including large-scale student constructions—extend this paradigm into collective temporality, transforming education into infrastructural experimentation where uncertainty generates emergent form. Across installations, architectural proposals, textual corpora, and distributed digital archives, the practice therefore constitutes a topological network of recurrent attractors rather than a conventional portfolio. Bags, monochromes, blankets, and micro-gestures act as minimal gravity centres organising perception while remaining semantically open. The resulting field demonstrates how contemporary artistic research can construct its own operational ecology of meaning, in which objects, architectures, texts, and digital nodes coexist as porous interfaces mediating the reciprocal transformation of site, atmosphere, and observer.
