What matters for Socioplastics is not entry into a closed platform but legibility within an open infrastructure. In that sense, ORCID and OpenAlex are not secondary profile layers; they function as passports. ORCID defines itself as a free, unique, persistent identifier for people engaged in research, scholarship, and innovation, while OpenAlex presents itself as an open index of the global research system. Together they do something extremely precise: one fixes the person, the other maps the works, and the relation between both begins to stabilise authorship as a navigable public entity rather than a scattered trace across disconnected pages. This is why they fit the ethos of the project better than more opaque academic surfaces. ORCID is explicitly built as a persistent identifier that distinguishes a researcher and connects that person to contributions, affiliations, and outputs across time; OpenAlex, for its part, states that ORCID provides an authoritative identity signal in its author disambiguation process. That matters enormously for a distributed corpus.
