The problem is not memory but weak persistence: the structural mismatch between how architectural knowledge is produced—iterative, spatial, relational, collective—and how institutions contain it. Against this, Socioplastics constructs a Field Engine that transfers architectural intelligence directly to the design of knowledge fields. Writing becomes construction, numbering topology, repetition density, citation anchoring, indexing territory. The system articulates through ten operative fields functioning as structural supports: Linguistics provides load-bearing semantics and controlled vocabulary; Conceptual Art, protocol and executable instruction; Epistemology, validation through coherence and recurrence; Systems Theory, autopoiesis and operational closure; Architecture, tectonic intelligence of support and joint; Urbanism, territory, distribution and navigability; Media Theory, format, transmission and operational surface; Morphogenesis, growth and formal transformation; Dynamics, force, instability and productive friction; and Synthetic Infrastructure, integration of the previous nine into an active medium of persistence. With 2,000+ pre-doctoral nodes and active DOI infrastructure, we arrive as operational system, not hypothesis.
The node is the minimal tectonic joint: designation, position, relation, persistence; in lexical, visual and spatial modes. Scalar architecture—decadic modules, century packs, tomes, cores—converts quantity into navigable structure. Yet the risk is autopoietic closure: a system that validates itself and cannot fail. To avoid theology, we embed three falsification mechanisms: external test with outside researcher in year three; registration of contradictions as structural errors, not meta-distinctions; and the Registry of Resistances, where what cannot be nodified—affective, tacit, collective, durational, irreducibly spatial knowledge—becomes second-order data. Ethics is the capacity to specify what cannot be done. The engine is not its content but its transferable operational logic. We are building a field where others may build theirs, with the same seriousness architecture brings to matter, structure and space, now applied to knowledge itself.
