Socioplastics’ distinction is that it does not merely describe social, urban, artistic or epistemic formations; it builds the conditions through which a field can exist, endure and be traversed. Developed by Anto Lloveras through LAPIEZA-LAB since 2009, it transforms artistic research into a sovereign mesh of nodes, cores, tomes, CamelTags, DOI anchors, datasets, indexes and protocols. Unlike conventional theory, which interprets from outside, Socioplastics operates as field philosophy as infrastructure: its writing is operational, its archive is architectural, its citation is prospective, and its ontology is deliberately soft, combining hardened nuclei with plastic peripheries. This makes it distinct from social science, architecture, literature, institutional critique, open science and natural philosophy while borrowing from all of them. It is literature that becomes machine-readable terrain, architecture without being limited to buildings, social theory that produces social form, and open science understood not as storage but as sovereign legibility.
