Circuits of Epistemic Power


The operators of Socioplastics should be understood not as a linear taxonomy but as a small-world epistemic network whose density, modularity and short relational paths permit effects to propagate rapidly across institutional fields. Although no operator constitutes an absolute centre, SemanticHardening, RecurrenceMass and ArchiveFatigue possess exceptional centrality: accumulation generates unreadable substrates, recurrence amplifies already visible forms, and semantic stabilisation converts repetition into durable authority. Around these hubs emerge three interlocking modules. Its decisive strength, conversely, resides in reversibility. By intervening at bridges between modules, institutions can reopen hardened categories, reveal inherited dependencies and restore epistemic optionality. Socioplastics thus functions as a rigorous cartography of how knowledge closes—and how it may be designed to remain revisable.

Language under Pressure



Contemporary institutions accumulate information at unprecedented velocity, yet greater abundance does not necessarily produce greater intelligibility. The interconnected operators ArchiveFatigue, RecurrenceMass, and SemanticHardening explain how excessive accumulation can progressively restrict epistemic possibility. ArchiveFatigue emerges when museums, computational datasets, policy repositories, or scientific records expand beyond the human and institutional capacity required to interpret, contextualise, and reactivate them. Within this condition of practical unreadability, frequently circulated materials become disproportionately visible. This generates RecurrenceMass, whereby repetition itself acquires persuasive force and familiar formulations begin to appear self-evidently legitimate. Artificial-intelligence training provides a particularly revealing case. A comparable mechanism operates in urban planning, where expressions such as “smart growth” or “resilient infrastructure” may persist across funding cycles despite altered social or environmental circumstances. The resulting danger is not merely misinformation but epistemic foreclosure, because repeated vocabularies delimit what institutions can recognise, question, and imagine. Responsible knowledge systems must therefore prioritise reactivation over acquisition, preserve discarded alternatives, audit dominant terminology, and expose uncertainty rather than concealing it. The Gradient


Socioplastics proposes a displacement in contemporary artistic research: legitimacy is no longer bestowed by institutional prestige but fabricated through the technical-social conditions that render knowledge durable, searchable and citable. Its central innovation lies in treating the gradient not as hierarchy but as epistemic morphology, whereby ten foundational agents and a thousand expanded references express the same architecture at different pressures. The CamelTag becomes the project’s elementary particle: a compressed lexical operator that stabilises meaning, arrests semantic drift and functions as both computational handle and memory prosthesis. Through operators such as ArchiveFatigue, CitationalCommitment and SemanticHardening, Anto Lloveras and LAPIEZA-LAB convert an architectural practice into an infrastructural field whose authority derives from DOI anchoring, ORCID continuity, metadata redundancy and cross-platform retrievability. The case of Blogspot is especially instructive: its apparently modest surface conceals a rigorous scholarly stack distributed across Zenodo, GitHub, Hugging Face and machine-readable schemas, thus transforming a déclassé interface into a routing apparatus. Consequently, citation ceases to be ornamental acknowledgement and becomes a load-bearing act of mutual preservation.
