Made from second-hand fabrics sourced at Katangua Market, it exposes the violent cycles of global reuse. Echoing Mahama and El Anatsui, its impermanence rejects fixity and commodification. Re-(t)exHile becomes process over product—a collective, ephemeral architecture challenging dominant narratives of space, waste, and belonging. Anchored in tension, it transforms Tafawa Balewa Square into a zone of care, critique, and occupation.

The traditional Spanish bar, once a vibrant hub of community life, is fading into memory. These spaces, where neighbors gathered for a morning coffee or an evening caña, are giving way to generic cafes and themed eateries that lack the charm and authenticity of the old taverns. What was once the beating heart of local culture—a place for debate, laughter, and camaraderie—is now being replaced by polished, impersonal establishments. This shift reflects a broader transformation of urban landscapes, driven by gentrification and changing social habits. With each bar closure, an era ends.

"Sons-Nús – Catro Nubes" is a transdisciplinary performance, where visual art intertwines with live music to create an immersive experience. Presented at the Escenas do Cambio festival in Santiago de Compostela's Cidade da Cultura, the piece features a minimalist scenography composed of drawings and photographic elements that frame the musicians: Maite Dono (voice), Baldo Martínez (double bass), Xosé Miguélez (saxophone), and Ton Risco (vibraphone). The work merges the ethereal sounds of jazz and experimental music with visual narratives, creating a dialogue between music, space, and imagery. The set consists of nine compositions that explore themes of presence and absence, resonating with the improvisational nature of the performers and the fluid aesthetics of Lloveras’s art direction

The MUDAS installations consist of a single fresh banana leaf pinned to the wall, which gradually dries out, changing color and releasing a distinct aroma that fills the space. This process is inherently social as visitors are photographed interacting with the piece, creating a participatory experience. The artwork connects to local culture, using the same banana leaves traditionally employed in making tamales, adding a layer of contextual significance. As the leaf transforms over time, it symbolizes change and ephemeral beauty, blending installation art with a tactile, sensory engagement rooted in local customs.

From a place between ethnomethodology and choreography, a situational investigation is proposed, leading to a stage piece. The city is taken as a brutal and invincible entity. A choreography of images, texts, and specific positions emerges from a collection of photographs. The proposal is an investigative exercise that embraces the image and urban narrative as a backgroundless actor, with the director as a walker within an emotional space. The city contains a polyphonic voice resulting from the constant exhaling of bodies, objects, vehicles, and urban nature. Each visual and auditory scene is accompanied by a series of positional stances.

HIDDEN FORCES

The “Hidden Forces” project is a conceptual land art series set in the dunes of Cádiz. It transforms graffiti-covered concrete into minimalist art using solid black rectangles, drawing on Suprematism’s geometric aesthetics. The intervention contrasts the organic dune forms and the stark black shape, symbolizing the tension between human impact and nature. As the winds and sands shift, these markings will inevitably fade, emphasizing the impermanence and invisibility of human presence. This ephemeral act becomes a dialogue between concealment and revelation in the landscape’s context.

Created during a period of isolation, the project reflects themes of emergence, disconnection, and reconnection through daily drawing practices. Exhibited simultaneously in Cádiz and Castilla, King Dream embraces the tension between confinement and expansiveness, inspired by Brecht’s idea that “there will be singing about the dark times.”

Restoran Splendid is a site-specific socioplastic installation by Anto Lloveras that redefines traditional hierarchies in visual representation. The concept centers around the idea of equality and shared presence, where each artist in the Rabbit Island residence occupies every position within a series of eight photographs. By rotating the artists through identical settings, Lloveras eliminates the notion of a fixed protagonist, ensuring that every individual takes a turn at the forefront and the background. This structured repetition blurs distinctions between subject and context, producing a visual and social equilibrium where all participants are equally highlighted and obscured. The effect is a looped, democratic tableau that resists singular narratives, celebrating the fluidity and interdependence of each contributor’s role. This approach, termed socioplastics, engages the viewer in a contemplation of communal presence, challenging the typical focus on individual prominence in art.

Ongoing sculpture series where children become the creators, building and deconstructing the artwork in the gallery. Using 200 tagged plastic pieces, the installation invites them to explore art through play. This project holds a strong political and conceptual focus, advocating for spaces that recognize children as active participants in contemporary art. The sculptures are constantly reshaped by small hands, turning each ephemeral structure into a fleeting form of socioplastic art that challenges conventional notions of gallery spaces.

The Sunflower Fields art residency in Bokros, Slovakia, part of the Supernatural Series, is an ongoing project that integrates nature and local culture. At its core, the FruitJobs series comments on the transient nature of both art and life. The artwork is meant to decay, be consumed, or juiced, highlighting the ephemeral qualities of organic matter in contrast to the often static nature of traditional art forms. By using food as material, the artist engages with the senses, transforming mundane ingredients into symbolic artifacts of ritual and everyday life.

EL SOL DE FRENTE

"El Sol de Frente" (2015) is a nocturnal intervention organized by Ana Matey on a farm outside Madrid, in which Anto Lloveras participated as both artist and observer. The piece blends performance, narrative, and photography, exploring the body's ability to adapt and respond to the natural environment. A figure covered in a large golden antler performs a ritual that blurs the line between human and animal, while the audience watches through small windows. The action turns the setting into a visceral and wild stage, highlighting the transformative power of the landscape.

Featuring a mannequin head transformed with pink paint and black lines, surrounded by everyday items like fruits, it embodies a double alter ego: vulnerable and ritualistic. The installations evoke the paradox of the visitor as an "aborigine" of the city—free and fresh. Ordinary items become part of a symbolic ritual, blurring the line between contemporary and ancestral. The series invites viewers to explore duality within themselves and the city, transforming the mundane into a ceremonial space for reconnection and reflection.

The Yellow Bag ultimately becomes a living installation, a mutable object that accumulates layers of meaning with each location it inhabits. The Blue Bags embody the concept of the Unstable Social Sculpture, where the most basic elements — a simple plastic bag — become the most complex. These bags operate in duality: as art and as functional objects, their role shifting depending on context. They function as Translatorial pieces, transforming environments through minimal yet intentional placement. Acting as Situational Fixers, they adapt to and highlight the uniqueness of each setting, questioning the boundaries of art, utility, and visibility, thus becoming symbols of impermanence and fluidity in conceptual art.

The Trole Building, designed by Anto Lloveras and Alberto Sánchez Cabezudo, is an iconic structure located in the south of Madrid. Initially an old coffee factory, it was transformed into a modern office space with a striking facade of white zinc panels. The design emphasized creating a contemporary aesthetic in contrast to the surrounding brick buildings. The project required complex planning and adjustments to comply with local regulations, including fire safety measures. The building’s minimalist exterior and clean lines make it a standout in its industrial context.

Frameless Bended Series RECREO 2020

The Frameless Bended Series consists of 20 sets of three sculptures, created through daily bending of metal profiles to generate new variations without repetition. This action art installation continuously evolves, transforming space and perception with each new iteration. The series, developed between 2020 and 2021 in Recreo, embodies themes of transformation and redefinition of form, blurring the line between sculpture and performance in the ongoing process of "Bending the Real."

PLANCTON is a temporary collective art project, driven by theoretical discourse and situational art. Functioning as a one-year experiment, the group sought to explore collaborative artistic processes, mixing action, critique, and performative presence. The trio founders engaged in both individual and collective practices, questioning the boundaries between personal and shared authorship. As a "catalyst squad," they navigated the thin line between theory and action, dissolving the group once they felt it had fulfilled its exploratory purpose. PLANCTON’s ephemeral nature both challenged and reaffirmed the fluid identity of art collectives.

El informe titulado "CASOENAC Colima, México – Proyecto UNESCO" se enmarca dentro de una colaboración académica y de investigación relacionada con la psicología ambiental y el urbanismo. Específicamente, proviene de un proyecto conjunto entre la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) y la UNESCO, en el que participaron José Antonio Corraliza, psicólogo ambiental, y Anto Lloveras, arquitecto. El trabajo se centra en la evaluación y mejora del espacio público en Colima, México, con un enfoque en el bienestar de las personas mayores y la accesibilidad. El proyecto implicó trabajo de campo, reuniones con instituciones locales y recomendaciones de intervención en urbanismo y diseño inclusivo. The Kingdom Series are temporary interventions in the landscape that challenge conventional perceptions of nature and art. Each action, part of the Subtraction Series, emphasizes the idea that altering or removing elements within a space can reveal the hidden dynamics of the environment. These subtle modifications play with visibility and presence, creating ephemeral installations that question what it means to "occupy" a landscape. The works exist in a liminal state, where art and nature merge, allowing the viewer to reconsider the boundaries of both.

SUBTRACTION SERIES

The MEAT Unstable Installation Series involves cutting everyday objects—primarily sofas, chairs, and sometimes clothing—since its inception in 2010. Over 800 pieces have been altered, each cut transforming the item into a sculptural form that balances between art and utility. Inspired by Art Brut, minimalism, and Lucio Fontana’s slashed canvases, each action is a deliberate subtraction from the object’s structure, creating a new, fragmented identity. This ongoing series explores absence, the physicality of the cut, and the object’s role as both art and artifact. The concept of the wounded or healed animal in this context relates to the tension between destruction and restoration. The act of cutting transforms the object, making it appear "injured" but simultaneously revealing its inner structure, much like a wound that is both a rupture and a site of healing. These cuts form galaxies of “taxidermies,” symbolizing both fragmentation and a cosmic order.

*Double Sided* is a conceptual dance and film series by Anto Lloveras and Mateo Feijoo, exploring themes of duality and minimalism through real-time, two-channel performances. Each movement echoes the previous one but varies subtly, emphasizing the ephemeral nature of process-based art. Inspired by Beckett, 1960s American minimalism, Erwin Wurm’s sculptures, and Paul Preciado’s philosophy, the series uses minimal scenic elements and standardized wardrobe to focus purely on bodily presence and rhythm, creating an aesthetic of deliberate simplicity and raw expression.

Already in 2009, Anto Lloveras presented YouTube Breakfast at a doctoral seminar at UAM, focusing on how the accumulation of video content online is a form of collective intelligence. The workshop highlighted that historical film archives, videography, and recorded conferences, once accessible only in museums, are now part of a digital “new school” accessible to everyone on platforms like YouTube. This session emphasized the need to engage with this vast digital knowledge as a form of public memory and evolving cultural practice.

This delicate disruption of space emphasized transience and subtle impact, leaving no permanent marks. The work is part of the Supernatural Series, highlighting impermanence and the tension between human intervention and nature’s resilience.

A performance by Regina Fiz in collaboration with Sebas Beyro, curated by Anto Lloveras at LAPIEZA. Regina lived for a week in a wooden house built inside the gallery, which was filled with soil to create a dark, humid environment. Visitors interacted with her only through a small hole in the house (the glory hole), symbolizing limited, intimate communication. While Regina tirelessly wove a rug inside, visitors walked around the house with headphones, experiencing the isolation and connection themes. This project exemplifies LAPIEZA's Socioplastics approach, blending conceptual and tangible art with relational, participatory engagement.

The performance "Cadaver Exquisito" took place at Cruce, Doctor Fourquet 5, on October 31, 2020. It was a collective action where each participant played a role: one threw, another dissected, another narrated, another carried with care, and another prepared a ritual. The form of the "corpse" was influenced by various elements—mass quality, spatial tangency, conversational dynamics, body temperatures, and interest in dissolution. The "Exquisite Corpse" is a method of collective creation, originally from literature, where each participant adds to the work without knowing the previous contributions, resulting in an unpredictable and emergent final composition.
