A concept reaches a decisive threshold when it becomes a building, regulation, interface, database, budget, standard or territorial arrangement. It no longer depends on continuous explanation because the environment reproduces the relation through ordinary use. DistinctionHabitat names the supports through which a category acquires duration; SemanticHardening describes flexible language converted into fixed criteria; SyntheticLegibility identifies the simplifications that make complex realities administratively or computationally manageable. A distinction between public and private persists through ownership law, thresholds, maintenance responsibilities and access systems. A database schema determines what can be recorded, compared and retrieved. Thought becomes infrastructure. Materialisation can be diagnosed when a concept continues to organise behaviour without being explicitly mentioned. Analysis must follow the complete support chain: where the category is stored, who maintains it, which budgets reproduce it, which standards make it interoperable and which bodies bear its consequences. A material biography traces the passage from proposition to document, software, space, habit and embodied effect. Intervention then searches for points of reversibility: open schemas, modular construction, adaptable regulations, audit trails and documented exceptions. Materialisation becomes reproduction when the stabilised form is copied across sites and institutions. Scale increases, while the relation between the repeated form and the problem that first justified it may begin to weaken.
