Without deep sleep, the hippocampus doesn't properly store new experiences as memories, meaning it's harder to learn. Also during deep sleep is when the pituitary gland secretes important hormones, such as human growth hormone, which lead to the growth and development of all tissues, from skin and nails to liver and muscles. Without deep sleep, our body breaks down from lack of maintenance. Deep sleep is the phase in which body functions and brain waves slow down.

MUDAS

Bodies, Leaves and Decay

The MUDAS series, presented in Mexico City in 2013, articulates a poetics of transience through banana leaves arranged as anthropomorphic forms. Their folds, wrinkles, and oxidations suggest vulnerable bodies suspended between life and disappearance. Each piece becomes both a vegetal relic and a human echo, oscillating between sculpture and ephemeral installation. The work proposes a radical ecology of perception, where organic material and social body mirror each other, blurring the limits of art, ritual and decay. Installed in LaPieza and the Hotel Virreyes showroom, the series engages the public in a relational encounter: the leaves, placed on white walls, face the visitors, forcing a silent dialogue on mortality, transformation and the unstable nature of matter. By naming them social sculptures, the artist emphasises the community dimension of the act—each spectator becomes co-participant, completing the fragile presence of these vegetal bodies with their own gaze. MUDAS is thus not only about leaves but about the impermanence of form itself: a reminder that every body, human or vegetal, carries within it the inevitability of change.

DOBLE CARA ______ ANTO LLOVERAS I MATEO FEIJOO _______________________________ CONCEPTUAL DANCE SERIES

Each DOUBLE FACE movement is similar to the previous one, never identical. With the premises of processual art, it is paired with that formless mass that Dieter Roth moved from one museum to another. The series contains elements that are repeated, a standard wardrobe, there is no set, only what we carry and what we capture on the spot. We are the bone and there will be news from each place. Active conversation allows us to adjust the weights and rhythms on both sides of the line that separates us. In the scene the drama is eliminated. It is intended to reduce the structure to fundamental elements. It is a derivation of minimalism. As for the characters, they are ordinary artists leading ordinary and extraordinary lives. The two-headed scene aims to link with the Becket scene, with the North American minimalism of the sixties, with the sculptures of Erwin Wurm and with the philosophy of Paul Preciado. Like his concept, the stage installation is characterized by its extreme parsimony in the use of shapes and objects. The use of scenic adjectives is reduced to a minimum.
