The idea was to generate a MIMESIS, a piece that would be as good as my old masters would have wanted it to be. I work a whole month full time with stones. The house has been untouched for a hundred years. All is old. First days i observe, then I dig the ground of the small room, half a meter down. The space is where animals used to sleep, under the livingroom. While I dig I take all the stones that are burried since the construction of the house. I save them apart. There are several big medium and some small. I cement the floor in several layers, cutting humidity from coming up. I put several objects of memory in cement - private rituals i do all the time - some of them become art, as the LEMON RITUAL, others remain private. Finally, before last layer of cement i make the piece, THE STONE BENCH, the MIMESIS, with all the stones i saved. All walls are painted white. I have a small vernissage with wine. Next day I clean up and make coffee in the morning. I wait for the best light light to take the picture of stone bench. I take some swims and read at the beach. Room is empty and looks great. My old masters did most of the work. I only make the new floor and paint all the stonewalls white. I add the bench as collaborative artwork with them. Those heroes that brought all the stones and put thousands of them together. I respect the old masters a lot. I love the tectonics, the proportions and the brutality. It is near perfection. During the days i work in paralel in the garden, where i use only small tools against the jungle that grows. I pick some roots, sticks, roof stones, clothes and cloth for the unstable installation series. ANATOMY OF DESIRE is perhaps the sweetest piece made with the strongest plant that grows everywhere and wants to be queen, and she is, but i reduce her in volume, while i eat the fruits. Thorns are very sharp. I also eat pears and apples from my trees, and throw seeds in garden. I make picture and film some actions. I do not plant lately. I only throw seeds in strategical places and wait, maybe they come, maybe not. Potential is there, all depends on the seed. I make mental lists on the infinite future works i can make in this place. The house in not a house but a scenario for PERMANENT PRIVATE PERFORMANCE.
